my dad sent some pics of their trip last week. here is one of he and andy hunting down in the valley.
about time for a face lift for the ole blog.
we had to say farewell to ole coot this morning. he just couldn't bring himself to retrieve in this cold water out here. it broke all of our hearts to let him go, but andy has to have some help for charlie with this hunting business. so we are back to square one. the new puppy will be here in december. you really were sweet, coot. best of luck in ohio.
here is our indian baby...okay, it is only a cherry, but looks pretty close:-)
two things: first...rowe's teeth have been coming in in a fairly strange order. all the bottom row first, then the outside top two, then the top two middle are just breaking through. you'll notice the 'dagger,' as andy calls it, is leading the pack on the top. second... rowe took his first steps a couple of days ago. so that was super exciting. my dad was taking pics as it unfolded so i will try and grab some from him when they get back home.

here is my dad and rowe fighting over that turkey bone.

my mom and dad are here for the week. rowe has had more to play with in the past three days than in the past three months. it is perfect timing for my mom because all of a sudden rowe has shown an interest in his books. perfect for reading time with grammy.

sweater weather has arrived.

i have been meaning to grab a picture of rowe flipping the lights. this is another of his great loves.

rowe's new favorite spot is coot's kennel. he loves swinging the door back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
this is rowe's favorite book as of late.
curls on babies have always gotten me. rowe can do just about whatever he want, but he better hurry because it is so dry out here his hair doesn't stay curly for long:-)

robin & i were talking about rowe's personality last night. since andy and i are both second children, we were wondering if rowe would adopt those characteristics or assume the first child personality. in regards to eating, he is for sure the 1st born. he wants what he wants when he wants it and he wants to put it in his mouth :-) there are only a very few things that rowe will allow you to feed him...pudding is one.

here is the view from rowe's high chair. the chair is what you can sort of see in the left side of the pic.

this is rowe's tv-face. martha ann gave us the baby einstein about water and rowe is pretty darn entertained by it, for at least five minutes:-)

andy's business partners

i'm not quite sure what is going in here, but we made sure that is came right back out.

here are a couple more shots of rowe just playing in the yard, spinning those wheels.

if i am ever in need of a distraction for rowe, all i have to do if find something with wheels on it. he loves them. he will just spin, and spin, and spin those wheels for as long as you will let him. my brother might have a 4-wheelin' partner in the making. here he is spinnin' away.

rowe's new favorite person is lindsay walker. she was my roommate my 1st year at the ranch, six summers ago. she has a heart of gold, and an even sweeter spirit. rowe's favorite thing to do with his new favorite person is to 'do her bangs,' as lins calls it. here he is styling away.
this kiddo thinks he's such a riot when he sticks his tongue out. i think he has a bit of sass in him - i love it. he must have gotten that from andy.
