sunsets

the ranch is truly amazing sometimes. i always find myself not really looking, familiarity getting in the way, but something like this just makes you really look.

on a different note, when people ask if rowe is a good baby, i have gotten in the habit of replying, "He makes up in personality what he is lacking in the sleep department." i think the little guy is finally making a turn for the sleepier, or maybe it is fuller. we started veggies a couple days ago and he is sleeping so much better, or should i say we are sleeping so much better.

this is rowe's favorite toy at the moment. the chef at the ranch loves it! by the way, if you are having trouble deciphering what that toy is exactly, yes, it is a wisk.

one of our guests this week gave us such a sweet gift - his business card. he is a pediatric emergency specialist. i'm sure he deals with a ton of new moms, but he sure made this one feel better, just being able to have someone the essence of qualified on the other end of the phone line. thanks, tom.

this same gentleman went with andy and i to a concert in creede on monday. it was a fella named darryll scott & he was out of this world. he is a singer/songwriter and his lyrics would just pierce your soul, straight to the core of your being. it was amazing, truly amazing.

mohawk

we had rowe's six month appointment today. he is weighing in at 18 pounds and just under 28 inches. a hoss to say the least. actually, he is just a long baby. he is only in the 50th percentile for his weight, but 90th for length.

he is sporting some crazy hair today, borderline mohawk. no styling here - all natural.

is this kid up to something or what?

laundry

rowe has been helping me up in the laundry. this is his favorite 'helping' spot. i can throw him in and keep him up on the table so he can check out what is going on. he can make anything more fun, even laundry.

community

i love this shot of my friend leah. the hands in the right corner are her mom & sister's, lys & lynn. the power of community.

rowe had a big day yesterday, the pool :-) he loved it. he is such a water baby. andy is hoping that will transfer into loving duck hunting.

our friends j & cheryl just found out they were having twins. they already have a little one so there will be all kinds of pink. happy father's day three times over. here are some shots of j that andy took last time we were in florida. i think they are beautiful. so here is to three. three girls. three pics.

tomorrow

the season starts tomorrow. it always seems a bit overwhelming day one, then before you know it it is september. rowe and i spent the day in the valley yesterday shopping for a high chair. momma lee would be proud. found a great deal at the thrift shop. i'll try and take some pics of the goose in his new throne. the latest news with rowe is a new found flexibility. he found his feet a while ago, but is only now recognizing their "chew-ness." i think that is his most common thought, "how would this do in my mouth."

wray & sarah, some friends from the ranch, gave rowe this onsie. i love it! they also gave him one that has a picture of the earth & says "be nice to your mama!" they (sarah & wray) were rowe's first babysitters in colorado.

char is so funny about shoes, especially andy's. she just loves to lay, not on them, but in them. what a goose.

attempting

well....here is to hoping this will keep us all connected! i've been a bit of a bum with actually printing pictures, & then mailing those pictures that i haven't yet printed, so i was up for another route. this way anyone can check on the goose anytime, regardless of me being on-or-off the ball.

i'll do a quick update, really just for me to have an excuse to look at rowe's little, little baby pics.
