"oww"

i think i have said, "this stage is my favorite," at every stage so far, but this stage is really my favorite. rowe is so much fun and just a joy to be around, okay, a joy the majority of the time:-) one of his latest accomplishments is saying 'oww,' when things hurt. so his new thing is to have you point to whatever is hurt, like the above skinned knee, and then he says, 'oww.' i love it. i'm not quite sure he has totally grasped the 'oww' concept because he also says 'oww' when referencing andy's belly button or his moles.

curls

thankfully, rowe's curls made it home with us.

piggy

here is rowe loving some 'this little piggy.' also liv wanted to see a picture of the 'bump,' so here she is.

humidity

rowe has been enjoying his two constant playmates - grammy & pa stroud. today we took a fun trip to the park . we have both been highly affected by the humidity - i haven't stopped sweating and rowe's hair hasn't stopped curling.

home

rowe and i made it to knoxville. two short flights, one long flight, and here we are. my grandparents came over for breakfast this morning and we took a quick family shot. i think rowe must have been jetlagged. he must have been jetlagged last night, too, because i have never seen rowe not smile on a four-wheeler. he did have more fun at my brother's farm than this last picture insinuates.

cute

i have never been a fan of 'cute' clothes, but i am sucker for these. thanks, robin, for helping me see the 'cute' light. it looks like our little one will be loving daddy from 0-3 months and then loving mommy from 3-6 months.

inside

andy is fertilizing the front pasture this morning so we are being quarantined. thankfully a friend is having a wedding shower tonight, so i had a bed bath and beyond box with wrapping goodies to boot.

driving

we splurged a bit at the coop last weekend when we saw this steering wheel setup and knew that it would provide hours of entertainment for our little gear head. on most nights when he strip him down, rowe heads straight for the tub. this night, straight for the steering wheel.

mullet

whose is longer??? andy thinks he's at a disadvantage in this contest because rowe's hair looks longer simply because he doesn't have a neck:-)

helping

here is rowe "helping" andy with the sprinkler for our reseeded-mudpit-front yard.

morning

i think the little one is a little more awake than the big one.

cascade

had to call poison control today. rowe figured out the 'child-proof' locks under the kitchen sink & then began finger painting with cascade. rocky mountain poison was super helpful & since the bottle was still relatively full, rowe is gonna be fine. sherri, at the poison control center, said that unless he drank the entire bottle through a straw, he should be emergency room free:-)

5.06.2009

squeal

rowe has taken to squealing & this is usually the accompanying facial expression.

painting

we got out the finger paint yesterday to make some mother's day cards. a small minority of the paint did actually go on to the cards. you can see where the the majority went. the last picture is rowe's response to wiping some of that 'majority' off.

kip's

we are always excited for cinco de mayo. our favorite restaurant in creede opens for the summer today. estebans here we come.

5.03.2009

sittin'

we watched laci lane yesterday while cole, ky, and luke were in their first rodeo for the summer season. she and rowe were (and are) so funny together. they both would stand for a while, then both sit for a while.

driving

the ranch is perfect for rowe's 'loves' at the moment. there are always plenty of things to steer - tractors, trucks, rangers, even golf carts. please excuse the wild hair.

swinging

we can tell every now and then that we have an alabama-born child. example #1: he's a sucker for a hammock.
