bouncer

here is rowe "helping" chap "bounce" a little higher than normal. plus, i have been meaning to show off chap's bald spot, so this pic serves a dual purpose.

another ace up the sleeve to keep mr. busy-pants busy is the ole tractor. andy took him for a couple loops around the compound this morning. compound sounds a bit cultish, but i promise we live on a guest ranch:-)

dancin'

because we have a long winter, plus no cable, we will think of anything to keep this kiddo busy. one of his favorite winter activities: dancin'. andy is amazing and i keep hoping rowe gets his genes in that area, not mine:-) he is a far superior dancer at 2 than i will ever be, so maybe he's got a chance. i think he was bustin' it this morning to some outkast. other favorites: guster, old crow medicine show, and his favorite fav - the eagles. favorite song, heartache tonight. we keep trying to convert him, but he's holding strong to:

somebody's gonna hurt someone
before the night is through
somebody's gonna come undone
nothing we can do.....

actually, it is pretty catchy:-)

sling

it is so wild to see the differences in these two kiddos already. a couple examples: chap loves the sling. likes to just hang out on my hip all day long. rowe was never a big sling fan. on the other hand, rowe loved his bottle and now chap is not a big fan. actually, can't even get her to take one at all. things in common - both troopers in the cold weather, both love their daddy, charlie p, and both terrorize birdie mae. that's not totally true - chap is a sweetheart to both pups, only rowe terrorizes birdie.

bed

progress! ole rowe is learning to sleep in his new bed. i snuck in this morning to get proof. it has taken some encouraging. this is the conversation rowe and i have been having before he goes to bed.
me: night, bubs. love ya. now you need to stay in your new bed, baby.
rowe: k, no get out of bed. spank bottom.
me: you got it, mister, sweet dreams.

entertainer

chapin has been thoroughly entertained lately by her handy dandy entertainer. one of our sweet guests left it last summer for chap and we are both so thankful that they did:-)

laughin'

a little gigglin' at the dinner table. i think it might have had to do with a certain someone behind someone else's high chair.

victim

chapin's sweet little lamb has become her latest victim - of drowning, or at least of being slobbered to death. this is also her new preferred method of going to sleep. lamp on top of face.

p.s. thank you presley's for the darling cuddle partner for our little one - know we are thinking about ya'll.

happy valentine's day, goose.

new

we have a new toy to add to rowe's 'fleet.' andy brought home a cat skid steer and rowe is a smitten kitten. the first thing he said was, "oh...my...." :-)

happy b-day, lys. your beauty is through and through.

happy birthday to you, too, bro. there isn't a day that goes by that rowe doesn't want to call 'uncle wowee,' so thanks for lovin' on our little one, for speaking his language - tractor.

potty

this picture insinuates that potty training is going well, while in fact potty training is going the opposite direction. thankfully, we have some time until he goes to preschool, let alone graduates from high school. he'll get it.

book

i know we don't live that far out in the boonies, but it has always been my reason for not getting prints of the kiddos. i usually forget to burn the cd before i go to the valley, or i burn the wrong pics, or i burn the cd under audio instead of data - i have a hard time. so...i was so excited when i found a free photo book offer for people who use shutterfly, but never print anything, like myself, and now i have my first photo album of the little ones. better late than never.

new

the trundle is complete. andy did an awesome job - it looks like it just came right off of an ikea showroom. rowe has been saying, "new bed" all day long. we will see how long he'll stay in his "new bed."
