our chef at the ranch is just awesome. his food is amazing, he is super nice, plus he might be rowe's favorite person other than andy. speaking of andy, he has become so good at shooting food. i'm totally biased but i think he is amazing. these shots are for a little blurp on wray, our ched, in a video or something, not really sure of the details, but i know that the shots are beautiful. the food is as good as it looks, too. bon appetite.
we had snow on lagarita this morning. it is the mountain range that sits at the end of the ranch's valley going towards creede. we don't have very long shoulder seasons here. it usually goes winter, winter, winter, winter, spring, summer, summer, summer, fall, back to winter.
fall is here. andy took this shot of some aspens up the valley. it is just gorgeous. this is my favorite time of the year at the ranch. everything is slowing down, season is almost over, the trees looks like this, & andy is almost home.
andy has been amazed at how fast this dog has gone from 'specially trained hunting kennel' dog to 'laying in our bed, eating rowe's scraps from the high chair' dog.
rowe is very much about feeding himself & now giving himself his bottle. perfect timing actually - he was officially weaned a couple days ago. the little bug just does not like to be still :-) he usually has one hand on the bottle and the other on some kind of toy.
charlie p is such a trooper. she is being moderately welcoming to the new pup, still being so sweet to rowe, and doing great with andy during training. here is rowe hangin' on to her.
wanted to show off andy's new logo & busines for the offseason. didn't know if you knew he was a graphic designer as well. sorry it is so small - you should be able to click on it to enlarge, hopefully
here is the newest member of our fam. this is cooter brown. since andy is starting this duck hunting outfitter he needed a second dog, so here he is. he is a bit of a goose, as you can tell. he has already entered andy's 'boot camp' & is doing well, so hopefully andy can have him ready by the time duck season rolls around. we are having one problem, though - he can't tell the difference between his toys & rowe's.
this is luke, the third of the christensen kiddos. he was a baby when i was their nanny. he is such a trip. this is his 'mean face.' i love it.
all of us have been down and out health wise, so all the kiddos have had to steer clear of us. so at dinner tonight luke asked if he could finally give baby 'woe a hug. he always, always says 'i wuve you, baby woe.' anyway, here is my shout-out to luke. we love you little man, baby 'woe included.
my mom always tell the story of my aunt hannah giving my brother a chicken bone when he was teething. mom was horrified because that was not in any of her child-rearing books. roy entertained himself all afternoon & my mom became a believer of the chicken-bone. rowe sends his thanks, aunt hannah.
