so after "otter john," see below, we had been meaning to climb the 'huge tower,' as rowe calls it  just up the road from us so we made a day of it.  the tower was pretty neat and then there was a little boardwalk in the back out thru the mangroves.  there is one random pic up on the tower of a yellow building and that is where i work. it's the park headquarters at our entrance to everglades national park.  so there you go.  a little view of everglades life.  also had to give a shout out to chokoloskee,  that is the actual island where we live.

animals

so there was some excitement yesterday.  this animal guy, "otter john," brought some everglade animals and then some other odds and ends for a little presentation at the park.  even the elementary school kids came.  and yes, that is the entire elementary school:-) mom and i thought it was pretty neat. i think rowe and chap were more interested in their pita chips.  

picnic

so He has provided some really neat friends in everglade city - with kiddos no less.  we all had a great time out on one of the outer islands called picnic key. super fun.
